Jeremiah Lockett appears on the Virginia, Bedford County, Personal Property Tax Lists, (1789 PersonalB). http://freepages.misc.rootsweb.com/~vataxlists/Bedford/1789PersonalB/10.jpg

Jeremiah's father Richard died without a will. On October 3, 1805 all of Richard's children got together to dispense of his land. Jeremiah apparently bought the land from his siblings. (See Note for Richard Lockett)

Apparently Jeremiah was a Baptist minister who served as an ordained itinerant evangelist from the North Fork of Otter Church (now Mt. Hermon Church) in Bedford County.

Jeremiah Lockett appears on the Virginia, Bedford County 1810 Census, age Range = 26 thru 44
Jeremiah Lockett appears on the Virginia, Bedford County 1820 Census, age Range = 45 and up
Jeremiah Lockett appears on the Virginia, Bedford County 1830 Census, age Range = 50 thru 60 (Lockett spelled Locket)

Jeremiah's possible birth years were calculated by comparing the age ranges I believe he fell into on the 1810, 1820 and 1830 Bedford County, Virgina Censuses.
Jeremiah's possible death years are derived from him appearing on the 1830 Census and Lydia consenting to the marriage of Dosha Lockett in 1838, assuming he would have been the consenter if alive. Jeremiah Lockett Sr. does not appear in the 1840 census.
