Obituary Donna Mae Antons (Hathaway)

DONNA M. HATHAWAY

Donna Mae Hathaway, 82, of Webster City, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the Southfield Wellness Community.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with the Rev. Travis Schmidt of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Webster City, officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Pomeroy. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Hamilton County Hospice.

Donna was born April 8, 1924 the daughter of Henry and Beryl (Flint) Antons in Manson, IA. Following her high school education she later attended Allen Memorial Nurses School and then continued her training at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. She was later employed as a Registered Nurse for 15 years at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge.

Donna was united in marriage to Earl E. Hathaway on March 22, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. To this union four children were born.

Donna was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking her favorite delights. She was always so proud of her family and how they were doing.

Those thankful for having shared in Donna's life include her children; Catherine Francioni of Florida, Joan (Dennis) Stein of Webster City, Jean (Larry) Musgrave of Webster City, and Bruce (Diane) Hathaway of Badger, one sister; Charlotte (Burlyn) PeCoy of Fort Dodge, one brother; Louis (Carol) Gutz of Green Valley, AZ, ten grandchildren; Wayne Francioni, Marcus Francioni, Dana Saledo, Dennis Stein Jr., Kevin Stein, Matthew Musgrave, Abby Wozencraft, Eric Musgrave, Leah Musgrave, Tyler Hathaway, and 11 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hathaway was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Earl, two sisters; Shirley Armstrong, Carol Martin, and one granddaughter Christina Espe.

Obituary William Henry Harrison Miller

Mrs.William Miller of near Georgetown died Wednesday at Still hospital Des Moines after a long Illness. Mrs. Miller, 53, was born Aug.12 1904, in Waterloo.

The body is at Downs Furneral home, where services will be held at 2pm.Friday, conducted by the Rev. Lester C McDonald of First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak View Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved to Monroe coumty from Eddyville Three years ago. She is survied by her Husband and Five children, Mrs Rebecca Ann Riggleof Durant, Mrs.Marian L. Rice of Galesburg, Ill. and Beverly Jean, Robert Eugene and Shirley Miller at home. Two brothers and Five Sisters also survive.

COLUMBIA CITY Marian L. Corbin, 82, formerly of rural Columbia City, went to Heaven at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011. God has shown her the path and is awaiting her arrival in Heaven.

She had been a resident at Englewood Nursing Home, Fort Wayne since Dec. 29, 2010. She was born March 16, 1929 in Missouri Valley, Iowa a daughter of William Henry and Inez L. (Filkins) Miller. Her formative years were spent in Eddyville, Iowa. She graduated with the Class of 1947 from Eddyville High School. In 1961, she moved to Loon Lake. She was employed at Dana Weatherhead for 15 years, retiring in the mid-1970s. On Aug. 24, 1973, she was united in marriage to Jesse D. Corbin. They spent their married life on a farm in Washington Township, Whitley County. Mr. Corbin has been waiting for Marian to join him since his death on Jan. 16, 1990.

Her memberships included American Legion Post #98 Auxiliary.

Surviving relatives include her son, Billy E. (Mary Jo) Rice of Fort Wayne; a sister, Shirley (Richard) Draper of Lincoln Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Billy Benjamin Rice; a brother, Robert E. Miller; and two sisters, Rebecca Miller and Beverly Henry.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.

The burial will be in Blue River Cemetery. The visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Allen County SPCA. Condolences may be sent to www.smithandsonsfuneralhome.com.

Obiuary Eliza Tuey (Sumner)

THE FREMONT COUNTY HERALD
December 4, 1902

Mrs. Eliza Sumner.--Died, at her home four miles northwest of Sidney, Monday, December 1, 1902, of consumption, Mrs. Eliza Sumner, aged 52 years 7 months and 24 days.

Eliza Tuey was a native of Canada, the date of her birth being April 7, 1850, and when at the age of six years she came with her parents to Wright county, Minnesota, where on July 18, 1868 she was united in marriage to Stanley Sumner. Twelve children were born to these parents six of whom (four boys and two gilrs) survive their mother.

In 1884 the family came from Minnesota to Iowa and have lived in Fremont county several years.

She first united with the M. E. church but later became a member of the Christian church and it is said remained faithful to the cause of Christ until the time of her departure.

The funeral services were conducted at the house by Rev. O. W. Lippincott, pastor of the M. E. church, of this place, the subject of his text being taken from John 14th chapter, 1st and 2nd verse. Her remains were laid to rest in the Lacy Grove cemetery on Wednesday the 31st inst.
