MRS. W. B. JONES, FORMER RESIDENT OF PARIS, DIES
Paris, Oct. 13. - Mrs. W. B. Jones of Hannibal, died at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday morning in Levering Hospital, Hannibal following a two years illness. She was a former Paris resident and was born here September 27, 1872, a daughter of John W. and Belle Glenn Mounce. She was married to Mr. Jones on October 24, 1899.
She is survived by her husband and a daughter, Dorothy Mounce Jones, who lives in Washington, D. C.; and a sister, Mrs. I. E. Hill of Greenwich, Conn.
Funeral services were held in Hannibal by the Rev,. Junius J. Martin, rector of Trinity Episcopal church of which Mrs. Jones was an active member.

Mary Katherine Woodrow, 99, of Perry, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at her home.
She was born Sept. 8, 1910, in Perry, the daughter of Eugene LaFon and Lorene Underwood Muldrow. She was married to Jesse S. Woodrow on Nov. 2, 1935. in Centerville, Iowa, and he preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1975.
Survivors include four daughters: Jean Sinkclear, of Paris, Sharon Sweitzer and Marilou Cline, both of Perry, Mo., and Kathy Meranda, of Orange, Texas; one sister: Lucille Pedego, of Perry, Mo.; twelve grandchildren; one foster granddaughter; twenty great-grandchildren; two foster great- grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and two foster great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Gayle Woodrow and Nell Collins; and one grandson: Jeffrey Sweitzer.
Mrs. Woodrow was a lifetime area resident and homemaker. She graduated from Perry High School in 1928 and attended Kirksville State Teachers College. She served as a rural school teacher for seven years. She was a member of South Fork Presbyterian Church, and Peak Homeplanners. She loved working on family and community history, along with being with her grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday, Sept. 11, from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at South Fork Presbyterian Church. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church, with Reverend John Grimmett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home, in Perry. Burial was in Lick Creek Cemetery, in Perry.
Memorial contributions may be made to South Fork Cemetery or Lick Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Sweitzer, Chris Sweitzer, Lee Bergthold, Dallas Bergthold, Gene Cline, Mark Farnsworth, Ryan Acuff and Dustin Graupman.

Obituary Max Albert Mull

Max Albert Mull, 81, of Williams Junction, AR, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011. Max was formerly the head of the Arkansas Soil Conservation Service and spent 26 years in federal government service. In that capacity, he moved numerous times and was posted throughout Missouri and Arkansas. Max previously farmed and grew up on the "Mound" farm near Shelbyville, MO. Following government service, he owned the Mull Map Service in Marceline, MO. Max was an outdoorsmen, wood worker, avid reader, volunteer fire fighter and gardener. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia. He gave his family a strong ethical and moral example and a love of the land.
Max was born in Perry, MO, on August 24, 1929, and was the son of Marvin Mull and Mamie Woodrow. He was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved granddaughter, Courtney Renee Sipes. Survivors include his adored wife of 61 years, Irene Cecilia Latchford Mull, whom he proposed to on their first date; daughter and son-in-law, Laticia and Jim Dittrich of Williams Junction AR; daughter and son¬-in-law, Lavena and Tracy Sipes; grandson, Cameron Sipes of Smithtown, NY; grandchildren, Addison and Johanna Dittrich of Williams Junction, AR, Taylor Dittrich of Denver, CO, and Chelsea Dittrich of Little Rock, AR; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Virginia Mull of Columbia, MO; sister, Nancy Scheiner of Kansas City, MO; and sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Joe Roscoe of Stillwater, OK. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, AR (501-455-1067). Graveside services will be private.

Obituary Catherine Roberta Vance (Ayer)

Catharine Roberta Ayer, age 87 of Centralia, died May 26, 2010 at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born Sept. 10, 1922 in Monroe County near Paris, the daughter of Chesta Melvel and Mary Lou Crutcher Vance. On Jan. 22, 1943 she was married in Centralia to Gerald Ozias Ayer. He preceded her in death April 9, 2007.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Hutchens and husband, Ronald, West Bend, Wis. and Carol Swanson and husband, Mark, Columbia; three grandchildren, Matthew Irvin Cottrill and wife, Mistie, Abilene, Texas, Derek Hutchens, West Bend, Wis., Deanne Thyfault, Dallas, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Payton Jane Cottrill and Benjamin Ayer Cottrill, Abilene; one sister, Laura Jane McCullough and husband, Ben, Ashland, Ky.; two sisters-in-law, Stella Vance and Marian Vance, also very good friends, Katie Young and Marjorie Forrest, all of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Joseph Glenn Vance, Sr., Chester Melvel Vance and infant brother, Charles Robert Vance.
Catharine was a graduate of Centralia High School and an active member of First Christian Church, Centralia. In 1943 she was employed by General Telephone Company and later at A.B. Chance Company in the engineering department as a filing clerk.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Fenton Funeral Chapel, Centralia. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Jimerson, Pastor, First Christian Church, Centralia. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Centralia. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, May 28 at Fenton Funeral Chapel.
The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church, Alzheimer’s Association Mid Missouri Chapter or Cancer Research.
Honorary pallbearers will be Irvin Cottrill and Joe Vance.
Pallbearers will be Mike Truesdell, Jay Truesdell, Mark Blakemore, Evan Blakemore, Rodney Vance and Ben Biehl.
