EDWARD AULT DIES AT HARTFORD CITY

MRS. WALTER EVANS AND MRS. O. E. SHEPP LEARN OF HIS DEATH

Mrs. Walter Evans and Mrs. O. E. Shepp received word of the death of their brother-in-law, Edward Ault, 60, who passed away Sunday morning following an extended illness from heart trouble at his home in Hartford City.

The deceased was born near Pennville on Jan. 21, 1872. His marriage to Miss Maud McCunny took place at Hartford City on Dec. 25, 1910.

Surviving are the widow, one step daughter, Mrs Ervin Roe, Dallas, Texas; and brother, Byrl Ault, Selma.

LESLIE B. CARR DIES SUDDENLY

FORMER RESIDENT OF MONTPELIER AND KEYSTONE DIES IN OKLAHOMA

Leslie B Carr, 54, form resident of Montpelier and Keystone, died Suddenly Thursday night at his home in Seminole, Okla., according to a message received by his sister, Mrs. Harry Spears, of Montpelier. Death was caused by a heart attack.

Born in Montpelier, April 16, 1889, the decedent was a son of the late Jacob T. and Leba (Pearson) Carr. His marriage to Claudine McClunny of near Keystone, took place in Hartford City.

He was a resident of Montpelier until after his marriage, and for a time, resided in Muncie until leaving for Oklahoma some 20 years ago.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Irma Harris; two grandchildren; the sister, Mrs. Spears, of Montpelier, and four brothers, Everett and Edgar Carr, of Muncie; William Carr, of Duke Center, Pa., and Fred Carr. of Detroit, Mich. One brother, Virgil, is deceased.

Funeral services and burial will take place at Seminole, the time to be set after word is received from the relatives.

SERVICES HELD FOR AREA HORSE ENTHUSIAST

Grave side services were held today at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens for Max Arther Smith, 70 who died Thursday in Klamath Falls.

He was born Feb. 8, 1913 in Rocky Comfort, Mo. On June 30, 1949 he married Lela Kate Huffman in Fullerton, Calif., who survives.

When he was 2 years old his family moved by covered wagon to western Oklahoma from Missouri. He moved to Fullerton in 1938 and lived there until 1954. He moved to Klamath Falls in 1963 and worked at Specialized Service until he retired in 1981.

He was active in local horse activities, including the sheriffs posse and search and rescue. Mr Smith was a life member of the Oregon Association of Mounted Posses.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Larry Max Smith, Klamath Falls; daughter Francis Lynn Houghton, Eaton Rapid, Mich.; grandson, William Andrew Houghton, Eaton Rapid; granddaughters, Christina Houghton, Eaton Rapid, Shannon Lynn Smith and Melinda Ann Smith, both Klamath Falls; brother Walter G. Smith, Fargo, Okla.; sisters, Elsie McDaniels, Gage, Okla.; Alsie Woods, Fargo, Okla.; Marie Stable, Silome Springs. Ark.; Ellen Woods, Fargo; Margaret Wiedner, Shattuck, Okla.

Donations may be mad to the American Cancer Society of charity of choice. Ward's Klamath Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Donal Harry Ammon 81, formally of Muncie died September 27, 2006. He was a WWII Marine Corps Veteren.

Memorial Services ? p.m. Tuesday at Parsons Mortuary with visitation at 12 noon. Burial of remains will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
