PALMER FUNERAL SUNDAY AFTERNOON
The funeral of James Edmund Palmer, 62, a stationary engineer, who died at this home 503 South Hackley street, Thursday, will be held at the late residence Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in Beech Grove Cemetery. The deceased had resided in Muncie nearly all his life and was well known here. He is survived by a widow, four sons, Willis, Otto and Charles of Muncie and H. T. Palmer of St. Louis, and two daughters, Mrs. L. D. Mumford and Mrs. John Sheridan, both of Muncie.

Obituary Clara Louise Driscoll (McClunny/Franklin)

Clara Louise Franklin, 91 of Muncie, went home Saturday morning, August 27th, 2016 at Elmcroft of Muncie. She was born July 24th, 1925 in Albany, IN and was the daughter of the late Carl & Melva (Starr) Driscoll.
Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She truly loved her family more than anything especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clara was a loving and caring person who always saw the good in everyone; she enjoyed helping and serving others through her giving to many charities. She had a great love for animals; there wasn’t a stray animal that ever went unfed.
Clara is survived by her three children; Ronald (Gale) Franklin of Redkey, Phyllis Eby of Leesburg, FL, and Linda Meyer of Muncie; two step-daughters Vickie (Dick) Knief of Noblesville and Pam (Clark) Canada of Almonte, FL; sixteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin R. Franklin, a daughter Joyce Carrier, a son-in-law Ernie Eby and two sisters Pauline Dautrich and Myrtle Tenney.
Funeral Services for Clara will be held Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Muncie Mission, 1725 South Liberty Street, Muncie, IN 47302 and with envelopes provided at the funeral home

MRS. ONA MAE MUMFORD DEAD: ILL FIVE MONTHS
Mrs. Ona Mae Mumford, 76, widow of Lafe Mumford, died at 9 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Anderson, 1700 E. Dudley St. . She had been ill five months.
Born in Indianapolis, Mrs. Mumford had lived in Muncie since childhood. She was a member of the Woman of the Moose, Eagles Auxiliary, Daughters of America, Pocahontas Lodge and Ladies Auxiliary of the GAR.
Surviving with Mrs. Anderson are four other daughters, Mrs. Gladys Witt of Delmont, Calif., Mrs. John Graines of Muncie, Mrs. June Garrett of DeSoto and Mrs. Gordon Wayne of Auburn; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jack Kennedy of Muncie and Mrs. Robert Hesterburg of Reading, Ohio; one foster brother, Charles H Alexander of Muncie; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body has been removed to the Piepho Funeral Home.

DIES AFTER ILLNESS LASTING FIVE YEARS
Lafayette D. Mumford, 59, 1012 West Second street, died at 11 o'clock yesterday morning at a local hospital following an illness of five years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon in Beech Grove Cemetery. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Ona; six daughters, Mrs. Pansy Anderson, Mrs. Lydgia Greiner, Miss Celia Mumford, Miss Doris Mumford and Mrs. Robert Hesterberg, of Reading, O.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Gladys Burridge, and four grandchildren.

HORACE T. PALMER DIES AT HIS BROTHER'S HOME
Horace T. (Greeley) Palmer, 66, died at the home of his brother, Willis Palmer, 2113 South High street, at 5:15 o'clock last evening following an extended illness.
He was born in Delaware County but had lived for the past thirty-five years in Portland, Ore. He returned to Muncie about five weeks ago to his brother's home. In Portland he was a railroad telegraph operator and was a member of the O. R. T.
Surviving are the widow, Jane; two brothers, Willis of Muncie, and Charles, of Indianapolis; one foster brother Charles Alexander, of Muncie and one sister, Mrs. Ona Mumford, also of Muncie. The body was removed to the Piepho funeral home and funeral arrangements will be made today.
