Mary Whitson died sometime after the birth of Addie Mae, May 7, 1886 and before sometime in 1888 as Henry appears on the Joliet, IL city directory for that year.

A note found on an Ancestry Family Tree states "Henry's great grandson, Keith told me that Mary died and left Henry with 4 small children. He said his grandpa {Francis} said they lived with family when they were little and that Henry came back to IL. to work for awhile. Additionally "After Henry's wife Mary died, Birt went to live with the John Dixon family, Francis with his aunt & uncle, Mary & John Fouser. He also lived with the Al Geist family. Sam lived with John A.Scotts. Addie went to live with the Bill Robinson family in Mt.Ayr."

Henry then married Matilda Downes nee Lawson sometime about 1894 as they are living in Chicago and have been married 6 years as it appears in the 1900 Federal Census. Besides Matilda's children from her previous marriage they had one daughter together, Eva Whitson.

ADDIE MAE KNIGHT

Graveside services for former Mitchell resident, Mrs. Addie Mae Knight, 90, will be Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery at Mitchell. Funeral services were held Feb. 10 at he James B. Totten & Son Funeral Home at Electra Tex.

Mrs. Knight was born May 7, 1886 at Mableton, Iowa and died Feb. 7 at Electra, Tex. She and her husband John E. Knight farmed in the Mitchell area from 1929 to 1942, when they moved to Gaston, Ind, Mr, Knight died in 1958, Mrs, Knight had been living at Electra since 1972.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs.Viola Lockett of Electra, Tex.; and Mrs. Wendell Boyle of Gaston, Ind.; a brother Glen Robinson and a sister, Cora Robinson, both of Iowa; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

JEFFERY A. ST. JOHN, 55

Former Muncie resident Jeffrey A. St. John, 55, Doraville, Ga., died Saturday in Tarpon Springs, Fla.

Mr. St. John, who was born in Muncie, moved to Doraville, Ga. from Indianapolis in 1989. He was a restaurant manager for Shoney's in the Atlanta area.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia St. John, Doraville, Ga.; a daughter, Robin Thompson, Syracuse, N.Y.; father, William St. John (wife: Doris), Albany; mother, Florence Ammon (husband: Don), Muncie, and a brother, Stephen St. John, Tarpon Springs, Fla.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Parson-Rust Funeral Home, Albany. The body will be cremated.

Calling will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Obituary Lola Ray Bowyer (Lea)

Lola was the d/o Ray and Wilma Buckner Bowyer. She married Charles Lea on June 29, 1957. She graduated from the Brookfield High School, and the University of Missouri at Columbia. She taught school at Brookfield and Columbia, while her husband was in the Army, taught in New York State and four years in Germany.

She is survived by her husband, Dr Charles Lea; two daughters, DeJean and Lisa Rae, a son, George of the home, her father and step-mother, Mr and Mrs Ray Bowyer, a sister, Dixie Lee Brown, Brookfield, and a step sister, Patricia Kimbrough, Purdin.
