FUNERAL HELD SWEETWATER FOR MRS. R. WRIGHT

Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Wright, former Sweetwater resident, was held Saturday afternoon from the First Presbyterian Church in Sweetwater with Rev. Smith, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Wright died Friday afternoon at 12:45 in the Plainview hospital after an illness of several days.

Mrs. Wright was a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Crutcher, early day Abilenains, and niece of Mr. M. J. Hill, 1346 N. 5th Street.

Mrs. Wright, formally Mrs. Fritzie Shugart was born and reared in Sweetwater. She and her husband lived on their ranch in New Mexico. Mr. Wright's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Wright are also former residence of Sweetwater.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Wright is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shugart of Sweetwater.

C. C. WILLIAMS OF SWEETWATER DIES SUDDENLY

SWEETWATER, May 29 - Carl C. Williams, 62, real estate man and accountant, died unexpectedly at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in Sweetwater Hospital. Mr. Williams had undergone surgery last week.

A resident of Sweetwater since 1908, he was associated with his father and brother in the drugstore business from 1908 until 1921.

Born December 14, 1888 at Buffalo Gap, he was married Nov. 17, 1909 to the former Estelle Crutcher, who survives him.

Time for funeral services, which will be conducted in the First Methodist Church, had not been set Tuesday night, pending word from his son, Zeb Williams, who had recently returned to his home in Perryton after visiting his father. The Rev. Timothy Guthrie, First Methodist pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. George R. Wilson, First Baptist Church pastor.

Burial in Sweetwater Cemetery will be under direction of Cate-Spencer Funeral Home, with members of the Masonic Lodge in charge of graveside rites.

Mr. Williams was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Lodge.

Survivors, in addition to his widow and son, include his mother, Mrs. Alice Williams, Sweetwater; three sisters, Mrs. George F. Campbell of Abilene, Mrs. R.M. Adams, Fort Worth, and Mrs. C.H. Fulwiler, Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, L.L. Williams of Abilene and Flake Williams of Denton; and one grandson, Charles Zeb Williams.

LOVINA WOODROW WELFELT

Lovina Woodrow Welfelt, 81, of Grand Junction, Colorado, died July 23, 1995.

She was born January 28, 1914, to Albert and Alyce Woodrow and spent her early years on the family farm northwest of Perry. She is survived by her husband, William Welfelt of Grand Junction; two brothers, Earl of Monroe Manor in Paris and Charles of Bristol Manor in Marceline.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolly Crutcher and Mamie Mull and two brothers, Jesse and Bob Woodrow.

She was a graduate of Perry High School and the Osteopathic School of Nursing in Kirksville. She working years were spent in government service as a nurse in various locations including Panama and Alaska. She retired from the Marine Hospital in Seattle, Washington.

A graveside memorial will be held at the Lick Creek Cemetery in Perry at a later date when the ashes will be returned for burial in the family plot.
